I read that since the strict regulations our country is enforcing upon RV manufactures ( to better our enviroment ), that CAT diesel motors are taking a huge blow because they couldn’t meet the new standards. This however is goodnews for Cummins diesel division because, as an example Fleetwood has switched over to all Cummins motors for their diesel pusher line for 2009 product, and I suspect others will follow suit.  I also read that Mercedes announced they are building three new SUVs with a new wave of diesel engines that use low-sulfur diesel fuel which happens to be the cleanest burning type of diesel fuel,  they also claim it can get up to 33% more miles per gallon and emissions are so clean that the new diesels are approved for use in all 50 states. Some smaller motor homes already come with Mercedes diesel motors, but this looks like it could be a sign of the future for RVs. Hopefully Mercedes will eventually build motors for bigger units as well.
